1962 Saab 95 wagon converted to rear wheel drive using a classic 900 turbo drive train. Here's a one off car that was built in the late 80's by Parrformance in Pennsylvania. The car started life as a 1962 95 two stroke wagon and the builders cut and fit a late 80's c900 16 valve turbo drivetrain into the back driving the rear wheels. It's truly a wild build that is very well engineered. There's no second or third row seat – it's all engine and trans. The rear fenders were custom built and widened to accommodate the extra width of the c900 drivetrain. All the electronics to run the motor are built into a panel behind the front seats. The bracing in the rear is custom built and doubles as a jacking point. A custom locked steering rack is fitted to the rear. The car was running and driving and driven to a Saab convention in the late 80's. The trans is an automatic to ease installation issues. The fuel tank, battery and spare are placed in the front where the engine was. The fuel tank is missing and the car does not start or drive. You will need to fit a fuel tank and pump. There is a rectangular fuel tank tray in the front. The wagon retains the stock front end of the 62 wagon and was not widened but is fitted with mid 80's c900 front brakes. Four bolt wheel hubs all around from a c900 as well as the seats. The turbo is intercooled and you can see the intercooler in the side pictures. The radiator and air intake are also located in the sides. C900 instrument cluster is fitted and operational. There is no key to start it. There is just the ignition switch operated with a screwdriver. The underside is fitted with a steel plate from the firewall to the engine. There is some surface rust on this plate and in the engine bay. It will need to be trailered. This is a huge project with the end result of a truly unique Saab. Car is located near Tacoma WA.
