I have checked resources http://www.vsaab.com/html/twostroke.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ,
and have figured that I have a standard configuration 1967 engine
with a 12 bolt head
that I can't identify, but may also be a standard head.
and triple solex
Yes, you notice the three small air filters. I put these on while I try and find an alternate filter for the standard air box.
The filter change had made a big difference to the engine. Apart from the intake NOISE (very loud), what was originally a small stumble at part throttle with the standard air box, has now become a major stumble when giving gas. It is obviously running leaner with the foam filters and it still responds normally when full throttle is given, but when cruising with little gas, it will bog down rather than speed up when given a little more gas.
Can anyone suggest a website or .pdf or suggest information on setting up a Solex. I will have to confirm the jets, etc of what's currently installed
so I can see where things are going wrong. Question - does the Solex have an 'accelerator pump'? A means of providing a quick burst of fuel when the gas pedal is pushed. This would be the first area I'd check but I can't find any diagrams or info.
Any help would be appreciated since its not too nice to drive right now.
